03 Oct Best Renovation ROI
Which renovations prove to be the best Return on Investment?
This is a great question to ask, since we all have budgets and we want to make the most impact while keeping costs down. The top two “home sellers,” after Curb Appeal, are Kitchen and Master Bath.
Kitchens should be as sizeable as possible, which may entail knocking down a wall or two. Storage is important, so remember to keep enough cabinets to make the kitchen functional. Often, a bank of cabinets can be added to a wall so you’ll have floor to ceiling storage. The on-trend cabinet colors are a soft white or dark stain, and adding hardware always gives it a more custom look. Of course, these are broad suggestions and each kitchen project will be unique.Master Bathrooms with a Spa feel are most desired by buyers. Again, painting or re-staining cabinetry and adding hardware will make a big impact. Take a long, objective look at counters and tile work to determine if they need updating. Vessel sinks add instant impact. By the way, vessel sinks come in many shapes and dimensions and don’t have to be bowl-shaped. Adding a few “extras” can help with the Spa feel, such as a towel warmer, upscale tile accents, or specialty lighting.
